  • Terms: Term Contract 35 hours per week, effective February 2024 - January 2025
  • Salary: $35.98- $50.37 per hour, in accordance with the Ontario Nurses’ Association Contract (ONA).
  • Position Summary:

    The successful candidate will work with a focus in Family Health programs including Healthy Babies Healthy Children, Child and Reproductive Health and supporting various programs including Sexual Health, Harm Reduction, Vaccine Preventable Diseases and Control of Infectious Diseases.  Working within a team to provide services and collaborating with community members and within community partners for planning, implementing, and evaluating Public Health programs within Fort Frances and surrounding communities.

  • Qualifications:
    • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing, or eligible to register within the Province
    • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, BScN
    • Current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certification
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
    • Knowledge of, and/or experience with, principles of adult and child education, social determinants of health, and
         population health promotion an asset
    • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant would be an asset
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel required
  • Other:
    • All new Northwestern Health Unit employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of hire, unless medically exempt or otherwise exempt under the Ontario Human Rights Code
    • Access to transportation. Mileage allowance provided.
    • Successful candidate requires a clear Criminal Reference Check prior to start of work
