Keeping students safe – a new radar sign in Dryden!
Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the City of Dryden are working together to make drivers aware of their speed.
A new road sign that displays the speed of approaching vehicles has been installed on Van Horne Avenue, a busy roadway that many students use to get to school. Funded through the Ministry of Transportation’s Road Safety Community Partnership Program, the sign is intended to help reduce driving speeds and improve student and community safety.
“Radar signs have been shown to reduce drivers’ speeds, and we are grateful to have a new sign to help protect our students,” says Officer Miclash from the OPP. Slowing down and staying alert while driving helps keep children and youth safe.
For more information about the project or road safety in general, contact your local NWHU office.
