Salmonellosis incidence rates were similar between the NWHU area and Ontario in recent years, except in 2012 when the rate was significantly lower in the NWHU area. From 2009 to 2013, the average rate in Ontario was 21.4 cases per 100,000 per year and 22.0 per 100,000 in the NWHU area.
Slightly more cases occurred in females than males (57%), and the disease has been fairly evenly spread across all age groups.
