Food and Nutrition at Work

The majority of Canadians spend over half of their waking hours at work. The physical activity and health eating choices we make during our workday have a huge impact on our overall health and wellbeing. We need the spaces where we work to provide us with healthy opportunities that make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Here are a few examples of how your workplace can make it easier for employees to make healthy eating choices:

  • Provide environmental supports such as improving vending machine selections, cafeteria menus and food choices at meetings and functions.
  • Provide information and resources to help start a nutrition promotion program.
  • Help develop nutrition policies for workplaces.
