On-site disclosure means that signs reflecting health inspections are be visible to the public at the point-of-sale.
People may be familiar with these signs in southern Ontario or Thunder Bay regions. Previously, the results of health inspections conducted by The Northwestern Health Unit were posted online on ChooseWise and available through a Freedom of Information request. Now, in addition, establishments must publicly display a colour-coded sign based on the results of their most recent inspection.
Food premises, personal service settings, recreational water facilities, and recreational camps all must display signs under the ChooseWise program.
