Public health inspectors at the Northwestern Health Unit help to manage health hazard issues related to volatile and other chemicals. Volatile chemicals are chemicals that exist as a gas, have high vapor pressures at room temperature and can negatively affect a person’s health. It is important that other (non-volatile) chemicals such as pesticides can also be dangerous to health if not properly used.
