New food premises
Anyone planning to open or move a food premises must contact the Northwestern Health Unit and speak to a public health inspector to inform the health unit about the plans. The health unit can provide a new food premises with a package of information to assist them in meeting the Regulations and notification requirements.
Additional permits and licenses may be required from other provincial and municipal departments and agencies.
It is recommended that anyone operating a food premises be a certified food handler. Learn more about the safe food handler course.
