Using cannabis during pregnancy may be harmful to your pregnancy and your baby. Cannabis use in pregnancy has been associated with lower birthweight babies and slower growth and development in infancy. A child’s exposure to cannabis during pregnancy can lead to difficulties with learning, behaviour and mental health later in life. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding it is safest to not use any cannabis in any form.
Also, the chemicals in cannabis smoke are many of the same toxic chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Avoid being in enclosed spaces when cannabis is being smoked if you are pregnant or with your infant/child.
