Cannabis and Impaired Driving

Cannabis, like alcohol, causes impairment. It is illegal to drive while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Using cannabis can affect your coordination, reaction time, attentiveness, decision-making, and ability to judge distances. Driving while under the influence of cannabis may double the risk of being involved in a crash. It is recommended that people don’t drive or operate machinery within 6 hours of using cannabis (or longer if still impaired).
