The COVID-19 vaccine will be offered across our region according to the Ministry of Health’s 3-phase vaccine distribution plan. To learn more about the vaccine itself, see our resources below. This page will be updated as the roll-out progresses and new information becomes available.
Current Status
We are currently booking appointments and vaccinating anyone who is currently eligible as per the Ministry of Health's vaccine distribution plan. Learn more about who is currently eligible here.
View our "Weekly COVID-19 Update Report " for the latest local update on the COVID-19 vaccine.
How to get a shot
See who is currently eligible to book an appointment by visiting our Booking a COVID-19 Vaccine page.
Regularly scheduled vaccination clinics are now being offered in 13 communities across the region to those who are eligible. When the next priority group is eligible to book appointments, we will inform the public.
What you can do now
If you are or might be pregnant, have an auto-immune disorder, are immunocompromised, or if you have had a severe allergic reaction to a mRNA vaccine or to any of its components or its container, you will need to talk to your doctor or another health care provider to see if you should get the COVID-19 vaccine. Consider contacting them now to discuss so you will be ready when the vaccine is available to you.
After your shot
It is important to remember that even once immunized, you must continue to practice all COVID-19 prevention measures. The number of shots given will be closely monitored throughout the immunization process to assess when it is safe for prevention measures to be loosened in the region.
