The Aboriginal Prenatal Nutrition Program’s here to offer educational, cultural, preventative and supportive services to expectant parents and infants to six months of age.

- Aboriginal Healthy Babies/ Healthy Children Program
The purpose of this program is to provide home visiting services for Aboriginal Families living off-reserve with children ages 0-6 years of age and youth. Home visiting includes all aspects of physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being of the family and its dynamics.
Also offer milk coupons for expectant and breastfeeding mothers, referrals, community workshops, one to one support and advocacy, distribution site for Nippissing tool.

- The Community Action Program for Children Aboriginal Family Support Program/Aboriginal Best Start Hub
The Aboriginal Family Support program offers educational cultural, preventative and supportive service to parents and children ages 0-6.

Parent’s Time Out Mondays 9:30am-12:00pm
A nurturing play-based, Early Learning environment for children 7 months to 6 years that promotes socialization, self-esteem, self-care, routine, school readiness, fine/gross motor skills and more. Nutritious snacks provided.
Our Family Circle Wednesdays 1:00pm – 3:00pm
This program is to encourage families to maintain and/or develop traditional values and culture into daily life. Information and educational sessions are offered in group settings or one-to-one. Sessions may include but are not limited to: Contacts with Elders, Good Life Teachings, talking circles, traditional events, parenting, FAS awareness, smoking cessation, early childhood development and referrals.
Community Kitchen Thursdays 10:00am-1:00pm
Cooking classes offered to educate participants on safe food handling, how to eat healthy on a budget while following Canada’s Food Guide for First Nations, traditional foods, measurements and conversions and local community gardens.
Drop-in Monday to Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm
Families are always welcome to drop-in and play, have supervised visits, collect resources, use the independent study station, utilize our breastfeeding friendly environment and emergency one-to-one support services.

· Metis Healthy Babies and Healthy Children
The MNO Healthy Babies Healthy Children program, funded by the provincial government is a prevention/intervention strategy for families with children ages 0-6. It includes preparation for parenting, prenatal and postnatal care. The goal is to assist all Aboriginal families in providing an environment for the healthy development of children through home visits, service coordination and referrals. The program, which provides support for children at risk, is voluntary and open to any Aboriginal family who requests the service.

- Kids Being Kids – Metis Community Hall 714 Armit Ave 9:00- 11:00am
Provides a healthy and friendly environment for children to interact with their peers through free play and various activities encouraging social interaction, support and education. Healthy snack is provided. Drop in anytime. In partnership with Best Start Outreach program and Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre.
- Nutrition Kitchens – 1st Wednesday of the month 12:00-2:30pm
Located at the Metis Community Hall (714 Armit Ave). Open to all ages. Activities provided for children while parents cook a healthy meal which they take home for their family. Nutrition education provided by registered dietician, meals planned according to Canada’s Food Guide, traditional component included. Call to register at 274-1386. In partnership with Community Wellness Program and Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre.

- Children’s Mental Health Program
Children's Mental Health Services assist children, adolescents and their families who may be experiencing emotional, social, and/or psychological problems in their school, family and/or community life. Services are provided free of charge, for a wide range of difficulties from mild adjustment reactions to sever psychiatric problems in children ranging in age from birth up to 18 years.
