The Northwestern Health Unit offers parenting classes and programs in partnership with other service providers in the region.
Make the Connection
Make the Connection is a parenting program that supports parents and caregivers to build a strong emotional connection with their child (0 to 2 years of age). Over nine weeks, parents learn how to respond to their child’s needs, talk and communicate with their child, and help their child learn by playing. Learn more about Make the Connection.
What is offered in your community
In addition to classes and programs, the health unit offers one-on-one support to parents. Call your local health unit and ask to speak with a public health nurse, or drop in to the office.
The health unit also keeps up-to-date an inventory of all of the parenting resources that can help you in your community. Visit your community page to learn more.
