Three-day Forum to Focus on Building Capacity in Remote Communities to Increase Access to Affordable and Healthy Food.

Partners are gearing up for “Taking Back Our Food Chain”, a three-day forum on food security, March 26 to 28, 2018 in Lac Seul First Nation. The forum will tackle the challenges of high cost, lack of access to healthy foods and lack of infrastructure to receive it by exploring initiatives and solutions to building capacity in Northern Ontario communities - especially in the remote First Nation communities of the Far North. Participants from more than 40 communities along with representatives from organizations that support and work in the areas of food production, distribution and accessibility are invited to the forum.
