The Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) would like to acknowledge the Rainy River District School Board (RRDSB) for leading the way to creating a healthier school nutrition environment. During 2015, the school board took several steps to make health a priority for their students and staff.

“Our health and the decisions we make during the day are shaped by the environments we are in,” says Julie Slack, Registered Dietitian with the NWHU, “A healthy school nutrition environment exists when a school promotes healthy eating through words and actions, and makes it easier for staff and students to make choices that are good for their overall health.”
