Board of Health meetings

The Board of Health meets 10 times each year to direct the business of the Northwestern Health Unit. The structure and function of the Board of Health is governed by our Constitution and By-Laws.

Board of Health meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001. Any individual may attend and observe a meeting.

 
The Board of Health schedule of meetings is available to the public.
 
The date and location of our next Board of Health meeting is posted in the What's New section on the homepage of the website.
 
 
Delegations and deputations
 
Requests for delegations or deputations with the Board of Health must be received in writing by the Secretary 10 working days prior to the scheduled meeting. Contact: talkpublichealth@nwhu.on.ca.
 
Each deputation will be allowed a maximum of 2 speakers for a maximum of 20 minutes total.
 
 
Some meetings may be closed to the public (in camera)
A meeting of the Board of Health, or part of a meeting, may be closed to the public (held “in camera”) for specific reasons outlined in the Municipal Act, 2001.
 
You can request an investigation into whether or not a meeting (or a portion of a meeting) was closed appropriately by filling out the municipal investigation complaint intake form and sending it to the investigator appointed by the board.
